Conference: ICMCTF 2019

International Conference on Metallurgical Coatings and Thin Films 2019 was held in San Diego (California, USA). We presented three contributed oral talks in different sections, in the diagnostic section prof. Vašina talked about the evolution of atom and ion number density in reactive HiPIMS. Assoc. prof. Souček talked about hard and fracture resistant W-B-C coating prepared by HiPIMS and Michael Kroker presented the multilayered coatings prepared on SHM Phoenix deposition system.

After the end of the conference, we took few days of vacation and traveled home with a small detour to Los Angeles, California national parks, and San Francisco.

Oral contributions:

  • Titanium Atom and Ion Number Density Evolution in Reactive HiPIMS with Oxygen, Nitrogen and Acetylene Gas (prof. P. Vašina)
  • Preparation of Hard Yet Fracture Resistant W-B-C Coatings Using High Power Impulse Magnetron Sputtering (doc. P. Souček)
  • On the Origin of Multilayered Structure of W-B-C Coating Prepared by Non-Reactive Magnetron Sputtering from a Single Segmented Target (M. Kroker)

The 2019 ICMCTF banner design was developed by Beate Rabsch and Michael Stüber at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany.
