PVD Laboratory

The article entitled A Long-Term Study on the Bactericidal Effect of ZrN-Cu Nanostructured Coatings Deposited by an Industrial Physical Vapor Deposition System was published in the journal Nanomaterials. It deals with the evolution of the bactericidal effectiveness of ZrN-Cu coatings exposed to actual operating conditions for 6 months. We have prepared hard and wear-resistant bactericidal coatings that are well suited for frequent wear areas, such as door handles in public buildings like schools and hospitals. This study was done in collaboration with the Department of Experimental Biology and the Department of Chemistry at MUNI and the SHM company.
